报告摘要：Environmental sustainability is constantly threatened by Increasing economic demand. How to motivate companies and individuals to reduce the demand for natural resources is a global challenge. This is a heuristic research which aims to propose an environmental demand approach to incentivising behaviour changes toward sustainability by using environmental value. We adopt environmental warm glow effect as a metric to measure environmental demand among consumers and empirically test the relationships between environmental demand and behaviour changes with a 2-period panel data collected from local and organic food consumers. The results show that environmental demand is positively associated with consumers’ intention and actual action to recycle food delivery box. Our findings have important policy implications in establishing a demand pathway to achieve environmental sustainability with economic growth.
