报告内容: Researchers have been increasingly interested in understanding demand side constraints to student learning. As one of the most high profile approaches to alleviate demand side constraints, economists have begun to evaluate the impacts of certain health and nutrition interventions. Despite the frequently cited positive impacts of the trail-based evidence, the evidence is more mixed when examining the impacts of these interventions on the learning outcomes at population level. This talk covers two series of school-based health intervention projects I have conducted with collaborators in China: providing vision care in rural western China and improving physical activities in Shanghai metropolitan area. Demand- and supply-side as well as system-wide barriers in the real-world context are discussed. A system-wide combination implementation strategy is proposed to translate the trail-based efficacies into population-based effects.
