We show that the method is internally inconsistent and conflates CPI bias with variation in cost-of-living across income levels. That variation arises because rich and poor consume different baskets. We develop a method that disentangles these two components. In Hamilton’s data we find smaller but still significant estimates of CPI bias. (Center for Food and Health Economic Research,C’FHER)成立于2016年1月。
